Hello everyone.. my name is Olivia. I'm from Los Angeles, California. I am diojiu!
Diojiu, also known as Chiu Chow or Teo Chow is a province in China. It is a language that is fairly similar to Taiwanese, but it is in no way related to Taiwanese... It is not Cantonese nor is it Mandarin. However, I do speak those languages as well... as seen in some of my other videos :)
To add even more about "the" Chinese language... Mandarin, Cantonese, Diojiu, Taiwanese, Fokkien, Hokkien, etc. - they are all different LANGUAGES, not dialects. They are all rooted with Chinese writing, but they are completely different languages. You don't hear people calling Spanish and French DIALECTS of Latin - they are LANGUAGES. I don't understand why people like to put labels on subjects they know nothing about.
